Wigs do not need as much maintenance as one’s own hair because unlike our own hair there isn’t buildups of oils and dandruff from the scalp that need to be cleaned. Wigs generally need to only be cleaned of smoke and hair sprays that may be in the hair.
To clean the wig, simply fill the basin with warm water and a small amount of mild shampoo. Simply swish the wig gently around the shampoo/water for a few minutes. Remove the wig and refill the sink with clear water and then swish the wig around it again. Redo as necessary until the wig is clean. Take the wig and let it drip dry for a few minutes. Place it in a towel for about 10-15 minutes. Then let it air dry and then comb it back into its style.
Remember to never use hot curlers or a blow dryer on the wig. Synthetic fibers are liek plastic and will just melt from too much heat.
The wigs listed on the TG Page are women’s wigs that we feel work best with men. It is based upon what it will do for the face. We also have taken into consideration the needed styling involved to make the wig look good. The wigs we are listing are wigs that need little styling skill to get it into the style shown on the picture.
