Everyone is always so interested in wearing shapewear in our community and I do not blame them! It is essentially the easiest way to get a stunning hourglass frame! I mean sure, you can work out to try and sculpt your body but, let’s face it, girdles are so much easier! So, now the question becomes, how in the world do I get these things on and what should I expect? Especially for beginner crossdressers, girdles might look very appealing and intimidating at the same time. Being able to properly and easily squeeze yourself into one takes just a little practice. However, we have gotten it down to a science.
For crossdressers that would like to be more discreet when buying a girdle, don’t worry there are plenty of options for you. For example, Amazon, eBay, Glamour Boutique and other online retailers are great places where you can find quality girdles discreetly at a great price. Below you will find a standard size chart to sizing girdles. However, men should always buy 1-2 sizes smaller than woman due to not having curvey hips.
Always looks for something well made with good sturdy fabric.
How best to put girdles on
Depending on the type of Girdle you purchased, you would usually begin by stepping into the garment and pulling it up over your hips. This method should work for most girdles however some additional instructions can be given when dealing with zippers! Once you pull the girdle up towards your waist, lean back flat on a bed or on the floor to zipper up the side of
the girdle. If the zipper is located on the back of the garment I would suggest zippering it first and then stepping into it and pulling it up. Or, you can always have a friend help you!
How the girdle should look in the mirror
Girdles should look very hugging to your body in the mirror. It should end right below your breastplates and lay on the tops of your hips. If you can tug or move your girdle
easily, then it is too big and you should return it immediately. It should look tight like the picture below!
Advantages and disadvantages of a girdle over a corset (smoothes rather than extreme shaping)
Sometimes crossdressers will wear a girdle under a steel boned corset. Some people even wear girdles over their corsets to smooth out the faint lines sometimes caused by the corset. This effect smooths while still creating a beautiful hourglass look. It supports your body and keeps you sucked in all day long. The process to get the girdle over your corset may take additional time while getting ready.
