RANDI’S TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY
We are frequently asked about other girls that appear in the various photo contests we hold throughout the year. There are girls who look so natural and gorgeous that they truly inspire others to want to work at looking better themselves. Over the year’s we have been blessed to meet and share with our reader’s such positive role models as Elizabeth, Carollyn Olson, Heidi Phox and many more. Whilst they are different ages, body shapes, coloring etc one thing they have in common is that they have taken the time to perfect how they look. However, they make it all look so effortless and so we are always intrigued at their journey to become the beautiful girl we see in their pictures.
Another lady we are proud to add to the list is Randi Richards, the winner of this year’s Halloween Picture Contest. We have seen other pictures of Randi in different outfits and we are astounded at the different looks she can create, whilst still maintaining her natural beauty. Everyone we show Randi’s pictures too mention how classy or chic she looks. Her clothes, wigs, shoes etc all look to be carefully chosen, age appropriate and of quality so that they enhance her whole look. The same is true with her makeup-application; it all looks flawless and as most girls know, that is so hard to pull off.
Read on and see more of Randi and she will even reveal some of the secrets to her gorgeous transformations.
“For 35+ years I’ve embraced life in multiple genders. What started as ‘female illusionist’ performances morphed into the ‘real-world’ expression of the genuine ‘me.’ Years ago, I was ill prepared to venture off stage and on to the street. As a TV director I’m skilled at pulling together experts to generate an incredible product. I recruited professionals to help create a look, style and image–wardrobe stylists, make-up artists, wig designers and photographers, with little experience within our community. I learned to shop and dress for my body shape, how to dress in an age appropriate yet stylish fashion, and to capture/create great photos. I have introduced members of my growing “resource team” to coach and support hundreds of other gurls.
I began photographing my wardrobe and make-up applications as a hobby. It inspired confidence and taught me to be more comfortable and passable in my femme skin. Today my hobby has become a part-time profession as paid model. I shoot different themes, costumes, wardrobe, studio and locations. I stay on top of fashion trends, shop primarily at Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus (Last Call) whose inventory is age appropriate yet fashion forward.
My tips:
- Hire professionals to coach you. They need not be experts in our world.
- Invest in quality clothing, wigs, and make-up– always be sure they are purchased, altered, cut and styled to your body and face shape.
- Observe genetic women, and understand that women who look outstanding are the ones that work on their appearance and they are in the minority.
- Work in front of a camera early and often. Capture your progression–its not about learning to pose but rather about getting more comfortable and confident in your femme skin.
- Embrace being outside in the real world, let your confidence shine. Have fun. Avoid the drama.”
