THE FEMALE BODY SHAPE MEN LIKE THE MOST
They say that necessity is the mother of invention and nowhere is this more applicable than with crossdressers. We are all different shapes and sizes and yet many have the ideal female shape in mind of what we want to be but getting there can be a journey of trials and tribulation. Some are blessed with the fact that a correct size of boobs and padded panty and hey presto, they are transformed into a nubile femme with curves in all the right places. Others may need the addition of a corset to reduce the waist in proportion to hips and shoulders and so the list goes on. Seamless shaping can become harder the more solutions you add in and so it does take a great deal of experimentation for some to get that much sought after hourglass shape. In our opinion there are no more inventive and resourceful folk than CD’s and TG’s.
Michelle, our friend from Australia whose inspiring CD/TG journey was featured in the January Newsletter this year is one such inventive lady. She has researched and then experimented until she can manufacture the shape she is happiest with. Michelle combines shaping solutions with great choices in fashionable and shapely clothing to give the attractive outcome you see here.
Read in Michelle’s own words what it has taken to get to the point where she is happy with the attractive, shapely lady that now looks back at her from the mirror:
“Google ‘Female Body Shape Men Like the Most’ and fortunately I’m not alone. Men prefer curves. Ever since I met my first wife 40 years ago I’ve liked the look of an athletic, trim hour glass shaped woman. Yet less than 9% of women have hour glass figures so they tend to be noticed.
As a crossdresser my ambition is to look in the mirror and see the woman I would want to be. But a male presenting as a female in the real world demands that body shape also be seamless and natural. I’m comfortable being picked as a man in a dress but would be deeply concerned if the package looked artificial and jarred.
Yet sculpting a 6 foot male body in its 60s and weighing over 210 lb into an hour glass figure is a heck of a task! After a considerable amount of experimentation I am now close to presenting as the woman I would want to be. This is one of my favourite recent photos to give some context.
Essentials for good body shaping are a good bra that will hold in man boobs (an advantage of getting older) plus forms, a good bottom and hip enhancer, and a good corset. The correct bra and the bottom enhancer have been relatively easy. I use GB’s Padded Rear and Hips Shaping Girdle with two extra pads to overcome the small male bottom. Locating the additional pads carefully gives me better size without their outline showing in tighter skirts.
Finding the right corset has been very difficult. The main problems with corsets have been their short length for my body, not keeping their shape when putting them on and while wearing them, the overhang over the top and under the bottom of the corset, uncomfortable if wearing for an extended period, and visibility of the corset under clothes. Above all, I just haven’t been able to get that seamless natural look. In the end I gave up wearing a corset and put up with a muffin look and compromised shape. It was more natural to have a thicker waist and muffins are common place.
Hearing of my experiences, David suggested trying a new corset that he had designed and was considering having made, now sold as the Extra Strong Double Boned Satin Corset. I willingly agreed. Because of the strength and number of the bones it took a while to settle in but I am now wrapped in the corset. It is a cinch to put on and comfortable for extended periods (dressed one day this week for 16 hours and sad to end). Most importantly, it gives a seamless natural feminine shape!
One tip is the importance of locating the corset for a seamless presentation. Too high and it will push the bra too high and look false. Too low won’t give you that straight down line from under the bust. Women don’t have ribs that stick out under their bust.
The corset is advertised by GB as an extra strong corset ‘for extreme waist training’ but I don’t use it that way. I can reduce my waist by an extra inch or two but then it is difficult to breath and the overhang of fat above and below the corset becomes very noticeable. There is already some unavoidable fat overhang top and bottom. I deal with the top by careful placement of a wider strap bra and avoiding some tops that give an East German swimmer look. I use the overhang at the bottom to advantage by integrating it with the additional pads into my shape. My measurements in the photo above were 48.5/37.5/49.
Now I have the confidence to wear a wider range and style of clothes. Some may not be age appropriate – I can’t find a copy of the CD’s rule book and I missed my female youth – as long as the presentation is neat and seamless. I have also flown in the corset (below) and yes it did set of security alarms but there are security procedures in place to handle this.
I can also wear tops that are best with a strapless bra. Location of the corset is even more critical (particularly not being too high) with the bottom of the bra needing to be just under the top of the corset.
Body shape is always a work in progress but I now wear my corset by choice and am very pleased with progress. The new corset is of fundamental importance in presenting in the real world and the price of such a corset is terrific value.”
