It’s been a little while since we last spoke with Lovely Legs Winner Candice Starr, and she’s been keeping busy in all the best ways. In this catch-up, she shares what’s been on her mind, her go-to fashion favorites, and advice for girls on their own journey.
Since our last chat, have there been any significant life changes or memorable outings en femme—maybe a new club, event, or even just a striking moment while out and about?
Recent memorable events huh? Last month’s Pride festival in West Hollywood was among the best so far. Hundreds of thousands attended coming from all over the country, actually the entire world really. The entertainment lineup was crazy good featuring artists like Lizzo, Remy Wolf, Kim Petras, and Honey Dijon. I hope everyone out there has a chance to participate in a Pride event. Now more than ever it’s important to be visible and show our power.

Is there a particular item in your wardrobe you find yourself gravitating toward lately? Or a fashion trend you’re especially loving right now?
Well as you know, I’m quite the lingerie diva. Beyond that, I gravitate toward vintage looks. Corsets, stockings, garters and heels — oh my! Elegant champagne taste dresses and gowns as well. And as the saying goes — the guy who invented pantyhose tried to kill sex. Stockings held by garter straps forever!

Your love for lingerie is no secret—and we’re so here for it! What’s one lingerie piece every girl needs in her wardrobe, and is there a particular piece you personally can’t live without?
Is there anything that comes close to a snug fitting corset? It’s the one thing I wear that can’t help but remind me all the time that I wear it that I’m one feminine creature. You don’t wear a corset as much as you surrender to it.
If you had to choose a signature fragrance to represent Candice Starr, what would it be and why?
Seemingly any fragrance that grabs me has a musky scent to it. White Diamonds, even Fire & Ice inexpensive as it is.

We adored your nod to Bettie Page in your last feature. If you were to do another homage shoot, who or what would inspire it next?
Again, I’m devoted to everything classic and vintage. So Rita Hayworth, Hedy Lamar, Marlena Dietrich, Jane Russell and of course Marilyn — all iconic beauties who absolutely knew the power of their femininity and the spells that unbridled femininity cast over men and women alike.

You mentioned the importance of acceptance in your marriage and that honesty is key. Do you have any tips for girls looking to open up to their partners about this side of themselves?
Yes, be open and honest. The sooner the better. Testing the acceptance of another early is smart because if they are not into you –well they’re not. And then it’s better to move on. Plus hiding your other true self from another sometimes brings in a certain element of dishonesty that can be seen as a betrayal of sorts. Undeserved guilt follows.

What’s next for you? Any dreams, goals, or glammed-up plans on the horizon?
Not sure. After all, I am getting up there in age. Since for years I have been a fan of The Glamour Boutique I wouldn’t mind having a photo or two used to advertise some of your exquisite wares. After all, most of what you see me wearing I purchased from The Glamour Boutique!
Before we wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share or say to our readers?
Yes, stay the course. Our community is being scapegoated to fuel cheap politically motivated culture wars. We are who we are — and we are not going away.
