Eye Candy of the Month: Stephanie Carrington

Let’s start by telling everyone where you are from?

I live near Frankfurt in Germany. Frankfurt is also my hometown and, in my opinion, a great city to live in. It is connected to the whole world and is accordingly cosmopolitan and very tolerant of all colors and lifestyles. And with Manuela’s boutique “Transnormal,” it offers a great place for people like me to go.

When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?

Well, probably sometime during puberty. And yes, it was also a fetish for me at the beginning and for a long time: nylon tights and high-heeled shoes.

And when I look back, there were probably a few women I admired or perhaps idolized during that time who were also instrumental in this. In my early days at high school, I had a class teacher who was slightly shorter in stature and always wore open-toed, high-heeled wedge sandals and a classic skirt. You could see her discreetly painted toenails and beautiful feet and legs in fine tights. At least that’s how I remember it today. To top it all off, she was also very nice and a real authority figure.

And then there was her: AMANDA LEAR! The mysterious lady with the deep, smoky voice, whom many believed to be a man. And she probably played with that image. The androgynous glamour girl with the seemingly endless legs.

The road to cross-dressing has been long, and it took me a while to realize that it’s more than just a fetish and that I really want to embrace my feminine side and dress properly “en femme.” It was only when I finally took a sabbatical after many years on the job that I ventured into the Transnormal boutique in Frankfurt and dressed completely as a woman for the first time. It was a revelation, and I’ve been doing it regularly ever since.

How did you come up with your Femme name?

The first name was relatively easy. Either Barbara or Stephanie. If I had been born a girl, my parents would have named me Barbara. And with Stephanie, I just have to add ‘ie’ to my actual name. Stephanie sounds more familiar, and I always carry most of the name with me anyway. I also think it expresses how close my two sides are to each other. So it became Stephanie, with the nickname Steffie.

At first, I didn’t even think about a surname. When the idea came up, I thought it should sound international and go well with Stephanie. There were a few names in the running, such as Lennox, Collins, Rosenberg, and Carrington. I came up with Carrington when I noticed a resemblance to Krystle Carrington from the television series ‘Dynasty’ during a styling session. And as luck would have it, my stylist, Manuela, said during another styling session that I looked like Krystle Carrington. And so the name was set. I wish I could wear such elegant dresses and jewellery as Krystle every day.

How often do you dress?

Unfortunately, far too rarely, above all, I don’t go out often enough as a woman. At home, I dress as a woman maybe two or three times a month. Real styling with public appearances once a quarter, if at all.

Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?

Yes, I am married. And my wife knows about my crossdressing, but would prefer to ignore it. I wish I was able to share my female self with her, but that will remain a dream.

Tell us what goes into getting the perfect photo?

For me, the perfect photo requires a knee-length dress, good lighting that shows off my long, nylon-clad legs, and a pair of high mules that show off my painted toenails. And most importantly: a subtle, happy smile that comes from deep within my balanced soul.

What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?

Of course, I have to mention my beloved mules again, and that includes nylon tights. Otherwise, I prefer to dress a little more conservatively and like to wear a knit dress or a knit skirt with a turtleneck sweater and a matching necklace.

Stockings or pantyhose?

Even though stockings are more erotic, I prefer pantyhose. I just love the wonderful feeling of nylon gently hugging my lower body from my toes to my hips. And they’re more practical too. Pantyhose are definitely part of my feminine style of dress. I find it hard to imagine being en femme with bare legs.

Heels or flats?

High heels and preferably mules. I also really like peep-toe pumps or sandals. Not so long ago, I would have said that flat shoes were a no-go. But I think I’ve developed a little more in my femininity and now I actually like to wear flat shoes such as ballerinas or Birkenstocks—especially when I’m out in public. With my height (6 ft 3), I don’t stand out as much as I do in high heels. And Birkenstocks show off my red-painted toenails to their best advantage!

Favorite places to go when dressed?

Actually, I prefer to go to a museum and then to the museum café afterwards. Just like cross-dressing, this offers me a complete contrast to my everyday life, and there you meet friendly, tolerant culture lovers. The atmosphere there is simply more relaxed, which makes me feel safe.

Go to accessories for a night out?

Definitely a pair of large, gold signature earrings and a long, wavy wig. A beautiful handbag to go with a knee-length dress, a tight corset, and high heels to complete the look for me.

Who is/are your female role model(s) and why?

I believe the role models couldn’t be more different: I’m thinking of the aforementioned Amanda Lear, but also the very elegant Princess Kate of England, or the more classic appearance of my former class teacher, whom I already mentioned. And when I think about crossdressers, I admire the classic elegance of Gillian Hamilton or the lasciviously sexy Madeleine la Belle and Jill Sailmaker. Not to forget: the wonderful retro girl Sarah Lewis.

Tell us some fun facts about yourself. What are your hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time, or anything else you would like to share?

I am a heavy metal fan—basically a genre of music that is mainly associated with men. But as a heavy metal fan, I had very long, curly hair in my youth. The girls envied me for it. And once, when I was on a pan-European train trip with a friend, we stayed at a guesthouse in Paris. The next morning, the waiter asked me at breakfast, “And what would you like to have for breakfast, madam?”… Maybe he already knew more about my hidden side.

Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?

I once went to the Museum of Communication with my stylist Manuela. There was a special exhibition on the subject of eroticism and communication. We sat down on a bed covered with pillows bearing erotic slogans to take a selfie. Two young men came by and offered to take photos of us. I took off my shoes and lounged on the bed for the photos. It was incredibly arousing, and I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams that I would pose so erotically on a bed in public.

If you have social media, what is the best way for others to follow you?

You can find me on Flickr under Steffie.CD Carrington. I’m a little less active there, but I’m also on Instagram under st_carrington or Stephanie Carrington.

Before we go, would you like to send a message to your fellow girls out there or a closing statement.

I think, a quote from Oscar Wilde fits best here: “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken”. And don’t let anyone drive you crazy or make you feel bad, neither others nor yourself. Live in harmony with both sides of yourself; they have so much to offer.
