Eye Candy of the Month: Jessica

Meet Jessica, a New Jersey–based crossdresser who found her confidence by carving out spaces where she could truly be herself. From vintage dresses and heels to bingo nights out, her journey is about self-acceptance, joy, and finally choosing herself. Honest, warm, and inspiring, Jessica’s story proves it’s never too late to live authentically.
Let’s start by telling everyone where you are from?
I live in NW New Jersey. It’s not exactly an ideal place to go out dressed as a girl, but I’m close enough to a lot of other places where it’s no issue. I’m not far from places in Pennsylvania that have great communities that are very open and accepting.

When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?
When I was a teen I’d often buy pantyhose at the drug store and paint my toes when home alone. In my late 20’s I had a few things I got at thrift stores and wore at home, but rarely had an accepting partner. Before I started venturing out into “the world”, I got dressed up for a night out on a trip to New Orleans with my wife when I was 48. I figured nobody would look twice, and I wasn’t likely to run into anyone I knew, which went well. We planned on going back for my 50th, then covid, which was a no go. So I decided I was not gonna travel half way across the country to be me. There’s a town in PA near us, New Hope, that is very alt friendly. It’s about an hour and a half away, close enough, but not exactly convenient. We went there for dinner a couple times and I loved being out, walking down the street in a dress and heels, and sitting at the bar.
Shortly after that I found an amazing bar in Easton, PA that had a bingo night hosted by a drag queen. I figured that’d be safe enough and gave it a try. We went to dinner first, and then bingo, and it quickly became a weekly routine. Soon we were regulars at the local restaurants, where I was always treated like one of the girls.
How did you come up with your Femme name?
Well, I always loved the name Jessica for girls, and found it super sexy. I thought it would be an excellent choice for me!

How often do you dress?
Never enough!! We were regularly going out to dinner and bingo every week, but work schedules got in the way. We have a pool, and I’m always in cute girl suits at our pool. We will also venture to other towns for dinner and shopping.
Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?
I am married to a wonderful woman who has just as much fun as I do when we go out, with me as a girl. She also likes to help me pick out new outfits when we go shopping. And I inherited most of her shoe collection, which is a major bonus!
Tell us what goes into getting the perfect photo?
You gotta own being you! Show off what you love about yourself, and smile with your eyes.

What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?
I am insanely in love with vintage dresses. And not just because I often get compliments on them! I love the patterns and cuts of older dresses, though they are hard to find because girls were smaller than me back then.
Stockings or pantyhose?
Stockings have been an obsession since I can remember obsessing about things.
Heels or flats?
Though I’m 6’3”, I love heels. They are usually about 3”, which makes me stand out even more, and I’m good with that. At least I have the legs to back it up!

Tell us some fun facts about yourself. What are your hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time, or anything else you would like to share?
I’m an equestrian and live on a small horse farm. I ride competitively, and train every day I’m not working. Being a nurse, I only work 3 days a week, which works out well for these things.
Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?
It’s so fun having an alter ego and a separate social life where people only know me as Jessica. My only regret is not doing it sooner.
If you have social media, what is the best way for others to follow you?
On Instagram I’m @jessica_cross_xd.

Before we go, would you like to send a message to your fellow girls out there or a closing statement.
Little things mean a lot. For me, getting breast forms from Glamour Boutique changed everything. It enabled me to complete my look and feel as girly as possible. Try to find that thing, and enjoy the time focusing on yourself. The time it takes to sit in a mirror to put on makeup is a brief time that I’m completely engaged with myself, which I don’t do often any other time.
