Eye candy of the month
Glamour Boutique has had Eve Taylor on our radar for quite some time. After all, she has been a Top 10 Super Cougar in our annual Glamour Girl Contest for the last few years. When Eve volunteered to be our November Eye Candy, we jumped at the chance to sit her down for an interview. Plus, being a New Jersey native was a bonus as that is where GBs headquarters is located! Let’s get to know this former Jersey Girl a little better!
Hi Eve. Thank you so much for taking the time for us to get to know you. First off, a congratulations is in order for you being a Top 10 Glamour Girl for the 3rd year in a row.
How did it feel to be in this years Glamour Girl Contest Top 10 finalists?
I was thrilled! It’s always nice to receive some validation of your efforts. Amazingly tough competition. The young ones are BEAUTIFUL, and we older gals are all experienced “pass-ers”. Gotta be on top of your game.
Can you let our readers know where are you from?
I’m originally from NJ, born and bred! Born in Hoboken, no less. (me and Frank Sinatra!) Now I’m on the coastline of Northern New England. Fresh air, outdoor activities, wildlife (animal), (internet shopping!)
How did you come up with your Femme name?
(St) Eve. Get it? One Christmas, our “stockings” were hung on the mantle, with care. Mine was partially blocked by an ornament, with only part of the name visible : “eve”. I said to my mother “Who’s Eve ???” She said “YOU!”
When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?
A LONG time ago. (I’m a super-cougar, 69 yrs old)
My grandmother was a “flapper girl” in the 1920s, and she had a tangerine beaded dress she’d let me wear as a child. I remember how heavy it was! Growing up with 4 sisters and a mother, femme stuff was ALWAYS all over the place. I had to see what it felt like. I liked it!
How often do you dress?
I’m retired, so whenever I can! If anyone has ever read the “My Husband Betty” book, there’s a chapter about ageing and different stages of crossdressing throughout different ages of life. I’m in the “Elation” stage. I’m finding that it’s easier to pass, much more relaxing and comfortable being out at a “certain age.” Less stress, more fun.
Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?
A loving relationship with my wife of 35 years. (Children and grandchildren)
She’s my muse. It is only with her help, guidance and coaching that I am at least “passable.” I am a very fortunate CD. She is my wig stylist and fashion photographer. She’s not thrilled with me being a CD-er, but, she says if I’m gonna be a CD-er, be the best you can be.
What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?
I love peplums, pencil skirts (like plaids, they’re in this year), any dress, especially if it’s high priced and low cut! And stuff ON SALE!
Stockings or pantyhose?
Pantyhose October to April. Stockings for fun. Pantyhose for warmth! It does seem that today most women disdain pantyhose; however, I feel that it evens out your skin tone on the leg for a more balanced appearance. I do like semi-opaque black tights in the cold weather.
Heels or flats?
3 1/2 inch max, flats for practicality and walking around. Heels for fun and “the look.” Riding boots in winter with and without heels. Heels seem to give me a better posture; you know, shoulders back, chest out (a little!)
Go to accessories for a night out
A bright smile, understated perfume, lashes (not too long), classy, simple jewelry, scarfs.
Favorite places to go when dressed?
Travel! Warm and sunny beachy places, international cities (love Montreal), CD conventions, etc. Love the First Event in winter, Boston area. So many attendees (we are legion, we walk among all others in the “straight” world). I just got back from a magical long weekend in Quebec City. More French than France. Great walking town, fabulous food, shopping, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The hotel staff made the stay most memorable in the nicest way.
Who are your female role models and why?
Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren, for their class, figure, good health, sense of humor.
And, Jane’s wardrobe!
Tell us some things we might not know about you. What do you enjoy doing in your free time, either En Femme or not
I love the outdoors, skiing, boogie-boarding, hiking, collecting jazz recordings and SHOPPING! I really enjoy riding my sports car around these beautiful country roads. I also like to search YouTube for make up tips, tricks and ideas as I always need to be perfecting my craft!
If you have social media, what is the best way for others to follow you?
I am practically “off the grid.” I need to go to Facebook school! I would like to generate more CD friendships, however I’m very suspicious of random internet connections. Looking for like- minded souls of the Super Cougar persuasion to meet on a more personal basis.
Before we go, is there a message you would like to send to your fellow girls out there?
My message to my sisters: SMILE! It’s our best accessory.
Be confident, show your respect for women by looking your best, not “Trashy.”
And have Fun! Life is short, be true to yourself and others will see it in you.
Maybe someday, it won’t be “transgender” or “Crossdresser” or “Queer,” but just “people.”
Cross dressing is my passion and I have tried all my life to “figure it out.” No answers yet, but the searching sure is fun. I’m lucky to have so many wonderful women in my life.
Regards and Sincerely,
Eve T
