When dressing En Femme, we often look to our genetic female counterparts to see what works for them and how we can apply that to our outfits and look. One area that comes up often is the importance of foundational garments such as Bodysuits and Teddies. Being that both can be used as undergarments or as part of an overall outfit, making them a very versatile and in some cases an essential part of your femme wardrobe. Plus, the Kardashians have made the bodysuit one of the most popular clothing options around. So what are the benefits of these items and why should you be sure to have them in your closet ready to go? I’m glad you asked.
For those of you unfamiliar, a crossdresser Bodysuit or Teddy is a one-piece form-fitting garment that covers you from your torso to your crotch or in the case of bodystockings, your feet. Many crossdressers like the bodystocking as it can be used while in our male or female selves. For example, you can put on a bodystocking under your suit and go to work without anyone even realizing it’s under there, making it your happy little secret. When using it as our female selves, we can use it as an undergarment or as part of an outfit depending on what you are wearing. A Teddy is considered more of a lingerie staple, as most girls like to keep them for some bedroom fun, but depending on the actual outfit can also be multifunctional, especially matched up with a mini skirt. Very Sexy!!
An Opaque Bodystocking
(Above) can be a great benefit for those of you who do not have the time or the ability to shave your legs or in some cases your arms. A nude colored Opaque bodystocking can give your arms and legs a nice smooth look while you never even had to take the time to shave. A black opaque stocking is a great foundation for skirts and jackets while still giving you the much-needed assist on not having to shave. Of course, we can always just wear these in the bedroom and just feel sexy with the stockings material all over our skin.
Bodysuits also afford you a “tucked in” look so you don’t have to constantly be checking to see if your shirt is untucked or if the shirt has shifted. It’ll keep everything form fitting and tight since they are made from stretchy or tight fitting materials. Speaking of materials, you can also make a bodysuit out of many different fabrics, for example, a t-shirt material bodysuit can offer you a casual look and be great with a light jacket and some jeans.
Some bodysuits also come with shaping built in, so in a sense, you can help get a more girlish figure which is always a plus. The versatility of the bodysuit is why we know many girls who love it. It is an item that can easily be thrown on and accessorized with outer garments or used as a top. One look we like is a sheer top or blouse with the bodysuit on underneath. It adds a layer between the sheer and your body offering cover, but can also look sexy as a see-through look.
We also love the layering aspect of Bodysuits. Due to their snug fit, you can layer other clothing without any bulk issues which when going En Femme can help a great deal keeping everything in place.
On the flip side of all these benefits, there are a few things to look out for when wearing a Bodysuit or Teddy.
One thing we can’t recommend enough when looking for either a bodysuit or a teddy is to find one with an open crotch or with snaps down there otherwise you will be having to basically strip just to use the bathroom.
Another important thing to look out for is the cut around the thighs as a high cut thigh will come out of your jeans/pants/skirt and show your bare hips, which is not the look you want in a bodysuit.
Lastly, keep in mind that most bodysuits do not come with any support for your breast forms. So be sure to have your forms either attached to your body or if you do wear a bra underneath, be sure the back of the bodysuit isn’t low or people will see your bra strap.
Bodysuits and Teddies can really offer so many advantages when dressing, that we cannot recommend them enough. Whether it is their versatility or the fact that they are an easy go-to for just about any outfit, especially in a rush, they really are a must have in your wardrobe.
