This leather waist cincher is a hand-crafted corset with a 2 plate steel front busk enclosure for maximum strength and pliable steel spiral boning –  they are as much a fashion garment as a practical cinching/tight-lacing corset. Steel grommets for the back laces and rear busk complete the authentic European-style construction of these value garments. Full 10.5″ length mean this authentic cincher is suitable for any height and are available up to a 40 inch size(for an actual 44 inch waist).

What’s the difference between a cincher and corset?

Cinchers, also known as waist cinchers, cover just the waist area. They start underneath the breasts and go down to the tops of your hips, providing a really good cinch in that area. Corsets are typically longer and can cover the breasts, or part of the breasts and even extend down further to the hips. Waist cinchers are ideal for wearing underneath your clothes for an hourglass silhouette, but also can be worn on top of clothes so super stylish fits, such as over a white shirt or a dress.

How do I choose the right size corset?  

To get the right fit for your corset, you will want to start by using a tape measure to measure the narrowest part of your waist, which you can find by bending the top part of your body with your legs straight – where your waist creases is going to be the place to measure.

Take 5-7 inches off this number, and this will be the size you need for your corset.

Handy tip: If you can pinch an inch or more of soft flesh around the waist then you can deduct up to a maximum of 7 inches from the actual waist measurement, otherwise deduct just 5. We recommend with the double-boned corsets that you deduct a full 7 or 8 inches if your waist size is 38 or above to get the correct size. These corsets are extra strong, so a full 8-inch cinch is possible.
