Dear Sienna,
This is such a great question, and one I get asked often! The jawline is one of those features that can really change the balance of the face—but the good news is there are lots of ways to soften its appearance without going under the knife. Let me share my top tips:

Use makeup to your advantage: Contouring is a magical tool for reshaping the face. By applying a matte contour powder or cream just below your jawbone and blending it downward, you can create the illusion of a slimmer, softer jawline. Pair this with highlighting on the center of your face (forehead, nose, chin) to draw attention inward and away from the outer edges.

Pick a face-framing hairstyle: Hairstyles can do wonders for balancing facial features. Soft layers, waves, and side-swept bangs can help obscure a sharper jawline and create a more oval appearance. Avoid slicked-back styles that expose the jaw unless you’re going for a fierce look.

Choose flattering necklines and accessories: High necklines, scarves, or even large earrings can subtly pull attention away from your jawline and toward your chest, shoulders, or ears. A well-placed accessory works like a charm!
Relax your face: This sounds simple, but tension in the jaw muscles can make the area appear wider and more angular. Practice holding your mouth slightly open and your lips gently parted—this softens your expression and minimizes jaw tension.

- Practice your angles in photos: Tilting your chin slightly down and to the side can create a much softer look in pictures. Experiment in the mirror to find your most flattering angle.
Remember, there’s no one “perfect” face shape—what makes you beautiful is how you carry yourself. These small adjustments can help you feel more confident and bring out the feminine energy you already have.

Katie
