Visiting The Glamour Boutique Store
As most of our customers know, Glamour Boutique is in Fairfield, NJ. It’s not a typical brick-and-mortar store either. We only see one customer at a time on the premises to ensure each visitor has their privacy safeguarded and so, that they are able to completely relax while here. Although we ask our clients to book an appointment in advance, we welcome folk to just come and browse – there is absolutely no requirement to make a purchase when you visit. Most folk call the same day they wish to visit and we rarely have an issue squeezing another visitor in. Obviously, the more warning we have will ensure you the pick of the times available. We do things like this because our company is all about customer discretion. We want to make sure that all our patrons feel completely comfortable when visiting and shopping with us. We do this by not advertising on the outside of the building.
If you ever come to visit us, you will notice that our business sign outside states, “GB Services”. This is to accommodate our customers that aren’t comfortable with expressing that they are a CD or TG woman. To further help our customers, our main door entrance is on the side of the building, located in a small corner parking lot. This parking lot is away from any foot traffic that the other businesses might bring, to ensure discretion. As we know all too well, some of our customers are not as open about dressing, which, is why we offer personal shopping experiences for every one of our customers coming in. This is a private one-on-one fitting and styling session in our display room. This will take the worry away from anyone that is self-conscious about being seen in our store trying on or browsing items. This works best for our customers because they feel safe when coming to our store and can feel completely comfortable while shopping because they are away from prying eyes. Although you can pop into store whenever you please, we do ask you to make one of these appointments first by calling or going to our Facebook page to Book an Appointment. Once you make an appointment, David, our CD and TG specialist, can help you with anything you need. If you need sizing or styling help, David can make recommendations or help pick any items out. This personal one-on-one service also ensures that our customers get the appropriate attention and service required every time they visit with us. However, for those of you that do not need help shopping, but still want to come in; no problem- just make an appointment and you will be shown to the showroom and left alone, unless you ask for our assistance. Whether you are a beginner or looking to change up your style, when you come into store, anything you want to try on is yours for an hour! This includes: breast forms, wigs, clothing, shoes, body shapers, and any accessories. This service can really help beginners understand what looks best on their body and what styles they want to avoid. It can really be an intense experience seeing yourself (maybe for the first time), all done up with professional items that were made to fit a male’s body. This is a really great service that all beginners should do before starting to wear makeup. It is an informative experience and can make all the difference in perfecting your feminine look. Makeup is a very important aspect of being a woman and feeling confident, so, if you can master it, you will look even more fabulous. Many sites explain how beginners should go to a makeup counter or watch lots of beauty tutorials on YouTube to learn how to put on makeup. We agree with these recommendations, but we also recognize that many beginners will not be comfortable with such an experience so early on. Most people aren’t ready to immediately go out in public to get their makeup done, especially not to the mall, with many people walking around. In addition, makeup videos can be very helpful and informational but, real-life experience with practical guidance will always top them. This is why we offer makeovers in a safe place with people who get it already! Our makeovers consist of a one-on-one with one of our makeup professionals at our beauty counter in our store. They apply all face makeup and teach you exactly how to apply everything. The most important part is that you actually get to learn the different techniques to feminize your face, including the steps on how to conceal your beard and lift your eyebrows and face. From our experience, generic beauty counters will not know exactly how to do this. One other thing that most other places might not be familiar with is beard cover! Corset lacing can be a very tricky thing to accomplish for beginners. Getting the laces tied just right takes time. If you find you’re at a loss or don’t have the patience for it, come and see us. We can teach you some great ways to fasten yourself into your corset. Another service we provide is replacing worn laces for our customers. Many people don’t know where to buy replacement laces that will fit properly and work as efficiently as the original laces. However, as you can imagine, we do. So, to save yourself the hassle, send it to us and we will lace up your corset with some fresh laces. You will get your corset back looking brand new.
