Female Prosthetic Vagina Review

prosthetic vagina review

Since we wrote this article in early 2017 there have been more advances in silicone prosthetics, especially in the fake vagina panties category. As of March 2019 we are therefore up-dating and adding to the original article and including the NEW 2nd Skin V-Panties range of female prosthetics to give a more current point of view.

In recent years the Prosthetic Vagina offerings have been shaken-up by some new products to the market place. These newer brands of prosthetic vaginas make a compelling case to the traditional offerings of the Vee-String, Cherry Popper etc. Even the Selene Vagina Gaff and the Pro-V Vagina prosthetic are now having to compete with the more functional vagina panty prosthetics which are more affordable than even 2 years ago. Prices range from under $100 for the cheap Chinese versions of a vee-string to $975+ for a fully-functioning top of the line Fem Girdle.

If you are in the market for a prosthetic vagina, you should decide what it is you are buying it for. Most ladies we talk to will mention one of the following:

Once you decide what it is you need the prosthetic vagina to do for you, you can then shop the different versions and decide which will be the best functioning and best value for you.

Glamour Boutique have reviewed the leading products on the market to help you in your decision-making. We sell some of the most popular vagina prosthetics but we are not manufacturers so can give you impartial feedback based on our customer comments we have received over the years. The results are very revealing.

For the sake of the review we will concentrate on the Vee-String, Pro-V, Cherry Popper, 2nd Skin V-Panties and the Selene Female Prosthetic Gaff. We have experience of all of these; we sell 3 of them, have seen all of them ‘in the flesh’ and have received feedback on all of them from our customers including the newer ‘2nd Skin V-Panties’ range of female prosthetics.

WARNING: we have received reports of issue with the Pro-V that you need to be aware of – read on….

We asked our customer’s to rate the 5 vagina prosthetics for the following:

  1. Appearance
  2. Softness/Feel
  3. Fit
  4. Functionality
  5. Value for Money

Each prosthetic was given a mark out of 10 for each of the above and we added the total scores at the end to give the Glamour Boutique impartial review, based on customer feedback. Let’s see who came out on top.

APPEARANCE: We have found so much variation in this regard; of the 5 models sampled only one offers hair and that is an added cost. The Vee-String offers all their models as ‘shaven’ or in different hair styles and colors. All the other 3 are only offered in a clean-shaven version at present. With regards detail all 4 are pretty close from the feedback but different given the different ways they are made and different compounds used. If you want hair then the Vee String is the only one to give you that and then of the others the feedback rates the Cherry Popper and the Selene with its innovative silicone plate with good labia detail behind a sheer mesh thong. The Pro-V looks good in real life but the pictures do not really do it justice. The 2nd Skin V-Panties have realistic labia and opening and along with the super-tight silicone compound look really convincing when worn as they help to present a more authentic female appearance overall since the models available help enhance the buttock shape.

Verdict: Cherry Popper 8/10, Selene 8/10, Vee-String 7/10, Pro-V 7/10, 2nd Skin V-Panties 8/10

SOFTNESS/FEEL: Again, a good deal of variation between the 5 models as we see in the customer ratings. The Vee-String is made of layered latex and although stretchy and pliable does not have the most realistic touch. Indeed, one customer harshly notes: “Feels like the rubber Halloween masks I would buy as a kid from party stores”. Although in real life the Pro-V looks good, customer’s who have the item think the silicone compound ‘too heavy’ and ‘hard’. The Cherry Popper and Selene did better but still not perfect in this regard. One customer commenting on the Selene noted: “It is nice but it is thin.  IF it was more fleshy so when I was wearing it I knew it was there, being able to really feel its wonderful fleshiness and fullness would so add to the experience…”. We feel the manufacturer’s/designers have to be careful though, because if made too thick they won’t look as natural – a claim made by one respondent of the Cherry Popper. The 2nd Skin Vee Panties range of prosthetics are a thin silicone girdle made from a super-stretch compound so it does wear like a second skin. This is also helped by the soft labia opening. One wearer notes all it was missing was ‘a bit more definition in the butt cleavage area’.

Verdict: Cherry Popper 7/10, Selene 6/10, Vee-String 5/10, Pro-V 6/10, 2nd Skin v-Panties 7/10

SHAPE/FIT: There is a lot of variation with the shape and fit given the construction and the materials used for the different models of prosthetic vagina. The Vee-String is easily adjustable and comes with detailed instructions to allow for customizing the fit which a number of respondents thought neat. The Selene is just like a standard thong gaff with the silicone prosthetic inserted in the clever pocket at the front and when size correctly feels comfortable and anatomically correct for positioning. The Cherry Popper is more similar to the Vee-String for shape but we had 2 reports of the molded straps breaking and if size not accurate it slips with movement. The Pro-V did not fare well. You must be shaved to wear and attach to your groin with their adhesive. Reports we have received are that it comes detached quite easily and one respondent had an irritation from the glue used. One customer brought it to the NJ retail showroom for a ‘show and tell’. Because it didn’t work, the Pro-V folk promised he would receive the 2nd generation improved one when they have fully developed it! The 2nd Skin V-Panties came out on top here. The fit is very tight and form-fitting once on and although not a padded girdle, they have been molded to give a more female but lift to your natural shape.

Verdict: Cherry Popper 5/10, Selene 7/10, Vee-String 7/10, Pro-V 2/10, 2nd Skin V-Panties 8/10

FUNCTIONALITY: Hands-down the winner here appears to be the Vee-String due to the choice on offer of what the different models do. There’s the base model for just the appearance and then models for penetration, going to the bathroom as a female and even a model that will do both. It would appear the Bladder Vee-String is the most popular from our straw-pole. The Pro-V scored well for the prosthetics ability to allow urinating whilst seated but the penetrable vaginal canal fared less well. The Cherry Popper allows for penetration but more than one respondent found the positioning awkward especially when the wearer is aroused. The Selene does well as a gaff but has none of the functionality of the others in that it is just a great appearance piece and gaff for tucking. The newest addition, the 2nd Skin V-Panties come with urination feature in all models and there is the optional ‘vaginal canal’ for playtime with a partner. Early feedback has been positive though one respondent notes care should be taken to wipe the inside and outside of the vagina after urination to take care of any trapped liquid. Although not offering as many options as the Vee-String the 2nd Skin range offer most of what most shoppers are looking for.

Verdict: Cherry Popper 6/10, Selene 4/10, Vee-String 8/10, Pro-V 6/10, 2nd Skin V-Panties 7/10

PRICE: With such a wide range, from $169 for the Selene to $890 for the Pro-V it’s easy to see why we get so many questions about these products before people take the plunge. They are not cheap and some are better quality than others as borne out by some of the comments we received. Even though the Selene is just a prosthetic gaff (with none of the functionality of the other models) it is great value when you consider the quality workmanship and detail. We also think, depending on your choice there is good value in the Vee-String. Depending on the model choice that determines functionality you have a lot of choice though be careful as the ‘add-on’ can be significant to the final price at over $350 for top of the line. Cherry Popper at $350 ranked lower and the Pro-V ranked last – at $890 you would expect it to work perfectly but it doesn’t. We look forward to reviewing the 2nd generation model and hope they get it to work at that price! The newer 2nd Skin V-Panties start at $129.95 for the NEW (as of 2022) Affordable model which compares very favorably with the Vee-String but given it’s a bikini panty would seem to us to offer much better value. The Affordable V-Panty has all the functionality of the Lady Shape High Waist V-Panties pictured at the top of the page but none of the female hip and butt shaping – hence the price difference.

Verdict: Cherry Popper 5/10, Selene 8/10, Vee-String 6/10, Pro-V 1/10, 2nd Skin V-Panties 8/10

CONCLUSION: From the feedback, comments and results we would advise anyone thinking of purchasing the Pro-V to ask them if they have fixed the adhesive functionality issues because, unless they have, you will end up buying a prosthetic you can’t use and all for $890! Of the other 4 we have reviewed they all have their strengths with the Vee-String and Selene close to the top of the class but for different reasons. The 2nd Skin V-Panties seem to be a game-changer in that they offer the enhanced appearance close to that of the Selene but combined with a lot of the functionality of the Vee-Strings. What pushes them ahead is the much improved fit of their unique silicone compound panties for a skin-tight appearance and the recent addition of the Affordable model which is a ‘steal’ at under $130.

Final Scores: Cherry Popper 31/50, Selene 33/50, Vee-String 33/50, Pro-V 16/50, 2nd Skin V-Panties 38/50

There are other products on the market and other makes of vagina panties but we have concentrated on similar products we and our customers are familiar with that do not also include shaping (hips and butt) as part of their offering. When considering a purchase, make sure to read the Size Charts for these items because they cannot be returned due to hygiene considerations. For un-obscured images of the 2nd Skin V-Panties, Selene and the different Vee-String models email info@GlamourBoutique.com and let us have your feedback on your prosthetic vagina.

WARNING: In September 2017 we were informed by someone claiming to have paid Choice Designs/Ultimate Prosthetic, the maker of the Pro-V but received nothing some 8 months later. We have received other similar ‘claims’ from other customers so please proceed with caution. We have passed on the information to Pro-V in the hope it is a miss-understanding but urge customers to always pay with Credit Card or Paypal so you can get your $ back.
