Eye Candy of the Month: Paige Andrews

Introducing our Eye Candy of the Month: Paige Andrews

With a new year and a new decade ahead of us, we wanted to start our Eye Candy feature off right. One girl who we knew would be a perfect choice is the lovely Paige Andrews. Paige is a veteran of our annual contests and has a large fanbase who love seeing her beautiful photos each year. Paige has upped the ante for this article with so many amazing pics. Let’s get to it and say hello to this self proclaimed sci-fi nerd girl, Paige Andews!

Hi Paige! We are so excited to kick off a new year and new decade with you as our Eye Candy Girl! Why don’t we start by telling our readers where you are from?

I’m from Milwaukee, WI. Raised in Wisconsin, went to college in Wisconsin, and still love living here (even though it gets slightly chilly every now and then).

When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?

I have a photo of me dressing up as a princess when I was 4 years old, wearing tights, a dress, some makeup, holding a purse. I remember being teased by my uncles at the time, and remember going to my room crying. After that I remember taking every opportunity that I came across to wear women’s clothes, nylons, skirts, bras, etc, but all in private. This was long before the internet, so at the time I thought I was the only person who was doing this. My first time out in public as Paige was when I was 42. Had I been born 20 years later I would have fully transitioned before I went to college.

How did you come up with your Femme name?

The ‘Paige persona’ came to light in 2002, although it would be another 9 years until I went out in public as Paige. I selected ‘Paige’ as my name based on an experience I had working with a modern dancer in the 1990’s…she and I received a grant to develop a music/dance outreach program for public school elementary students. I wrote the music and played percussion to accompany the dance moves that she taught students. I know this is a LONG explanation to a simple question! The dancer’s middle name was ‘Paige’…she did not know of my ‘Paige’ side, but she and I developed a wonderful platonic relationship, which was just after college for me, and whenever we worked together I could not help but want to be her (not be WITH her, but BE her). Have her body, her mannerisms, her confidence, and her dancing skills. Taking on ‘Paige’ as my true name just seemed so fitting, and it helps me remember the happiness that the dancer brought to all of the kids we worked with during our time together.

How often do you dress?

Not often enough! My first time out in public as Paige was in 2011, and by 2012 I was out as Paige every week. Since then, the real world has caught up with me, so it’s more like once a month. Mostly for photo shoots or to hang out with friends.

Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?

I’m just finalizing my divorce, after 23 years of marriage. My wife accepted Paige early on when it was just an occasional occurrence. I know I am transgendered and would love to live full time as Paige, I am just unable/unwilling to transition full-time right now due to risks to family members and my career. I did meet someone who fully supports me as Paige, and enjoys going out to dinner, etc. with me as Paige.

What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?

I love tight fitting clothes (tight skirts, bodysuits, bodycon dresses, catsuits, fetish-wear, etc.). My photos reflect my typical go-to looks.

Stockings or pantyhose?

Both? Pantyhose in general because I prefer the feel, and it helps with tucking. I do at times like the look of stockings with a garter belt.
I started wearing nylons when I was very young. A few years back I started wearing tights (in lieu of socks) and a bodysuit (in lieu of a t-shirt) under my “normal” clothes every day, including when I sleep. I am most comfortable in this attire, and it helps me feel femme all the time, even though my outward appearance may be masculine clothes.

Heels or flats?

Totally HEELS for me! I have 98 pairs of heels (and boots) that have heels 5″ or higher. I have 4 pairs of flats.

Favorite places to go when dressed?

Most of the time when dressed I do photo shoots, but I love going to dinner, a concert, a night club, shopping, or just relaxing at home.

Go to accessories for a night out

Earrings, a necklace, bracelets, rings, and purse.

Who is/are your female role model(s) and why?

This is a tough question, and I could literally list dozens of women who helped progress the TG movement, who were innovators, inventors, amazing artists, authors, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, explorers, etc. I’m a huge Dr. Who (and sci-fi in general) fan, so what came to mind for me is that Dr. Who’s companion (although fictional characters) define a female role model for me. In general, they were all very smart, witty, pretty, clever, strong-willed, creative, challenging, and vulnerable. Being a Dr. Who companion is on my bucket list in case anyone has connections with the producers and is able to put in a reference for me! I’m also a big fan of Sade. I love her cool, understated and seductive style. I would love to tour with her at some point playing percussion (another bucket list item). I guess the short answer is I am appreciative and grateful to all women who inspire and motivate me to be a better person.

Why don’t you tell our readers some fun facts about yourself. Do you have any hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time or anything else you would like to share?

I absolutely love playing classical, jazz, and afro-cuban music. I play regularly in a symphony orchestra. I did ballroom dance for many years, and would love to compete on “Dancing with the Stars” if I ever become a star (unlikely)! I love artistic painting in oils, doing home remodeling projects, and I have a side photography business (primarily sports and portraits).

I’m a sci-fi nerd. I cry watching romantic movies. I enjoy reading/watching genres that include suspense, mystery, sci-fi, history, and romance. I started downhill skiing when I turned 50. I love to travel, and am comfortable doing cruises or self-guided excursions in fun places (one lesson learned was to book the car rental when leaving for Venice, not when arriving!). I like to dress up in steampunk when I go to Renaissance faires. I would have been VERY comfortable living during the Renaissance period (aside from the poor dental and healthcare options).

Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?

There are a lot of stories, some good, some bad. My first night out as Paige was a disaster. I was so nervous to get out of the car, and when I finally went into the nightclub, it was packed so I was always standing right next to someone. I felt everyone knew I was a guy in girl’s clothes, and was so stuck in my own head that I could not enjoy the experience. No one said anything to me, or gave me awkward looks. It was all me, ruining the night myself. A few weeks later I went out again and ‘reset’ my expectations, and had a wonderful time. After that I was going out weekly, and quickly learning how to improve my outfits, makeup, voice, mannerisms, etc. Now I am comfortable in almost all situations (although going through TSA can still be challenging). I also had some amazing friends who helped me out early on.

I would summarize my answer to the question in this manner…life is shorter than we think, stop wasting time thinking about what you will do and how to make it ‘perfect’…just start doing what you want to do, keep your expectations in check, and adjust as you go! I would not have the many amazing experiences and memories I do as Paige over the last 8 years had I not taken those first few steps out of my comfort zone. It has been a bumpy road at times, but I have no regrets (beyond not starting my Paige journey sooner).

If you would like to send a message to your fellow girls out there or a closing statement.

It’s easy to give in to self-doubt, and agree with all of the excuses we tell ourselves inside our own head about why we shouldn’t do blah, blah, blah (e.g. dress up as we see ourselves and go out in public). We need to take a first step outside our comfort zone to be able to expand our comfort zone to include that new step. My first step was not good, but I got up, fixed some things, and have had an amazing adventure ever since. I’m no one special, so if I was able to take that first step, stumble, and pick myself up to be happy experiencing life as Paige, imagine what you can do!

Well said Paige! Thank you so much for sharing your story and for always being a great role model for all of your fellow girls out there!
