Eye Candy of the month:  Lexi Hudson

Introducing our Eye Candy of the month:  Lexi Hudson

Let’s start by telling everyone where you are from?

Hey there! I’m Lexi and I’m from The United States, specifically from the State of Texas. So to be “proper” …HOWDY Y’ALL! LOL

When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?

Oh Gosh! LOL Well, as with SOO many of us, my story starts from back when I was a kid, let’s say 10 years old or so. But I truly “came to life”, like getting out in the world for the first time, in 2010, if I remember correctly. I was married at the time, for the second time back then, and she had NO idea, which neither did my first wife. This lil piece of my life was something I carried for years and told absolutely NO one about, why would I?! I’d always felt something was “wrong with me”, so I safely hid it away, as deep as I could for years. However…it DID come out and it was “perfectly imperfect” when it finally did! My 2nd wife never knew or found out prior to our divorce, but it was a pivotal moment of growth and self-acceptance for me when I took this leap. She’d gone out of town for several days and I told myself “NOW is the time”! THIS was the moment, after all these years and self-denial, that I came to life for the first time! I KNEW I looked AH-mazing that first time out… Looking back now, I’m like “oh, Honey….” LOL  BUT I did it! I’d gotten dressed, slapped on my $18 worth of drug store clearance rack make-up, combed thru my $20 local costume shop wig, stripper heels and an outfit, which truly resembled nothing short of an absolute tragedy, knowing what I know now! LOL  BUT…I felt pretty for the first time in my life, so I OWNED it!! AND…we ALL have to start SOMEWHERE!!

How did you come up with your Femme name?

This is a fun one actually… Back to that FIRST time I’d gone out in the world, I KNEW I’d thought of everything, from head to heels Baby! I got the nerve up to step out of my car, then walk in to that night club and straight up to the bar to be greeted by Sandy! ALL these year later, Sandy is STILL my favorite bartender, as he is kind, sweet and the kind of fella that remembers your face and what your favorite cocktail is. Well….when we FIRST met, the world was in like “slow motion” for me at the time, as I waltzed up to the bar he was tending that night. As I approached, he tossed that little square bar napkin in the air and just as it landed, he said to me “hey beautiful, what’s your name and what’ll it be?” FAWWWK!!!!!  Never crossed my brain I was gonna need a freaking NAME! DANG IT!! LOL  I gave him some kinda awkward jibber and ordered something similar to rocket fuel on ice (DOUBLE of course), and he comforted me quickly saying “it’s ok Baby….don’t worry with that now”…  UGHH!! LOL Soon after, like the next day, I then KNEW I needed a name if I was EV-ER gonna go out again, so I racked my brain and came up with one. A Gal named “Megan” was a local morning news caster at the time, and I was completely enamored with her at the time! She was the kinda Gal we ALL want to emulate or be inspired by, ya know….sweet, cute, stylish, etc. So I decided I was going to be Megan! A few years later I was dating another girl and I KNEW I didn’t want to hide this part of my life any longer, because I felt I had always been “living a lie” to everyone that never knew, and I couldn’t do that any longer. Halloween was quickly approaching, and what better way to be like “HEY…ya know what’ll be SUPER fun?!?” She was ALL about it! “I’ll do your makeup, help you size an outfit and EVERYTHING you’re going to need! BUT…you’re gonna need a NAME, ya know?! You’re gonna be LEXI, cause that’s a fun and cute name! OK?!?!”, she says to me. NOT knowing what she DIDN’T know at the time, MEGAN was kinda butt hurt, cause it took ME a lot to establish what little identity I had at that time! BUT…she was “ok” with this, so I played along. Not terribly long after we experienced all of this together for the first time, she learned that this wasn’t a “spur of the moment idea”. I knew WAY more than I should have at that point. When we know our exact shoe size, bust/cup and proper bra size and request for her to “exaggerate my Cat Eye just a little more, like out to the tip of my brow”, they start raising their OWN brow at what all we ACTUALLY know! LOL. We had many lengthy conversations and she was ok with THIS part of ME for quite a while, but ultimately this part of me was one of the few reasons we decided our lives were headed in different directions. I was heartbroken by this at the time, because she was 100% supportive in the beginning and for long enough that I felt completely confident and comfortable with her, which was the first time I’d felt this in my entire life, almost 40 years old at the time. We reached a point where she was no longer comfortable with Lexi, or this HUGE part of me and couldn’t see us moving forward together. Devastating for sure… I was actually told “you should just go find other people like you…” So I did, but we’ll get to that in a little bit. We broke off our relationship and completely parted ways. I KNEW, at this point, that this would NEVER go away or change, and I didn’t want it to either! I’d grown SO much and still had SOO far to go. “LEXI” was alive and well and sure as hell wasn’t going ANYWHERE! SO….as a confident, polite and subtle “fuck you”….I quickly realized I would always be LEXI, and she was going absolutely NOWHERE but FORWARD in self-discovery and having FUN with MY life!

How often do you dress?

It tends to vary, as I work a good deal (by choice…I love what I get to do for a living!), but generally a few times a month on average. More so during the warmer months.

Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?

As I stated above, I “came out” to a CIS girlfriend I had a couple year relationship with, but continuing  together wasn’t in the stars for us, and this part of my life didn’t make matters any easier for us. It wasn’t the SOLE reason for us parting ways, but it was a factor. I’ve been on a few dates since then (late 2018), and recently out of a several month relationship with a Trans Woman, but I’m currently very SINGLE, and I could NOT be happier! Sure, I miss and ultimately desire that “companionship”, but at what expense?!? I’m just enjoying living MY life for now!! IF and when the time comes, I’d like things to progress, organically, with someone to share ALL of my life with. OH yeah! Sorry Boys…I like girls! ALLL GIRLS!!! XOXOXO

Tell us what goes into getting the perfect photo?

CONFIDENCE!! Sure…the perfect backdrop, a beautiful outfit, flawless make-up and hair ALL help…but confidence (NOT arrogance or conceit) is fully visible in front of the lens! It’s impossible to put a value on how inspired we get when we see ourselves for the first time. If you’ve never had this experience, PLEASE take the leap! You’ll be SOO glad you did, feel fulfilled AND it’s SOO validating!  AND….bring a friend with you to “spot you”! The photographer is SO busy with lighting, angles, backdrops, poses, etc. We can’t see ourselves, so having a friend with us during a shoot helps with all the extra stuff… Fixing your hair just right, point your toe a bit more, smile in this shot, don’t in the next, tuck that skirt under your let there, pick that shoulder up to be more feminine, etc. Trust me…that’s invaluable!

What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?

Pinup fashion is my absolute FAV!! I love those retro/vintage looks from the 1940s-50s. Depending on the event or venue, I’m also keen on latex fashion and outfits! Those can range from “cutesy candy girl” kind of looks to darker, goth-ish, Dominatrix type looks. It depends on the situation for me really, but I rarely “blend in”, and I really like that. Being “different”, ya know?!

Stockings or pantyhose?

Both, BUT…typically back seamed stockings to compliment my retro/vintage ensemble.

Heels or flats?

100% heels. Even poolside! LOL

Favorite places to go when dressed?

FUN places! LOL  By design, I don’t have many, if ANY friends here in my hometown, which I’m actually OK with. I DO go out, typically to “LGBT bars/clubs”, but I’ve also recently ventured out to several “mainstream” type venues and what not. Living in the part of the country I’ve lived my entire life in and the tragic “wrap sheet” it’s earned for not being “accepting” of anything less than what many consider “normal”, I’ve had an unbelievably successful experience here at home and been met with nothing less than kindness and acceptance in a multitude of settings now. Over the last few years I’ve met and become ACTUAL friends with people, many of which are similar to myself, from all over the United States AND the rest of the world! Covid kept me from my first trip to the U.K. in 2020 for a several day event called “Sparkle”, but I’ll get there one day! On the home front, here in the U.S., I’ve got friends, supporters and community sprinkled all across the land, from coast to coast, and recently from Canada to Mexico!  I just like spending time with friends… If you want to catch dinner or a show, or burn the town down…I’m IN! I literally had ZERO friends and NO community in the entire world, until I found an event called Viva WildSide, in late 2018, and I attended my very first event in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA in May of 2019. All I hoped was to find just one friend in the ENTIRE world, little did I know I was about to meet some of the most incredible people I’ve ever known in my entire life thru this group and community! I’ve literally chatted with people from 3 different countries and 3 different states here in the US the very same day I’m writing this message. XOXO I had NO idea any of these people were even REAL when I arrived in Las Vegas in May of 2019, but before long we were swapping contact info, winning (AND losing LOL) together in the casinos, closing down bars, dancing on rooftops and crying on each other’s shoulders as we parted ways, till we met again! My advice is just GO out! Break out of your shell! Make a FRIEND somewhere, ANYwhere, EVERYWHERE in the world!! Finding just ONE other person like yourself OR who “gets you” is the BEST and most validating feeling one can feel EV-ERRR!!! AND…when YOU have built your confidence up and are comfy in your own skin, DON’T forget where you came from! BE the kind of friend YOU needed when you first ventured out in the world!

Go to accessories for a night out

No specific items, however …a super fun purse or bag, AND a cute lil headpiece or fascinator hat ALWAYS lead to a laugh or 2, which prove to be wonderful conversation starters. AND…they’re just fun!

Who is/are your female role model(s) and why?

My FAVORITE style or fashion trend isn’t really “trendy” at all! I LOOOOVE Pinup and Retro/Vintage style!! I’m not much on modern fashion, as I feel it tends to be TOO trendy and too “risqué” at times and that’s just not MY thing, unless a specific photo shoot or setting is appropriate for that, which is thankfully pretty rare for me. I’m also not one to “follow the pack”, ya know? I don’t want to “stand out” either necessarily, but I want to be a bit different than ALL the other pretty girls out there, set MY own pace if you will. As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved vintage fashion, as it exudes class and femininity to me. I like a healthy blend of innocence, with a dash of sexiness, and that’s exactly what I aspire to be. It’s fun, cute, from an innocent time, and those styles are classic and timeless. They are recognized as “vintage” and/or “retro” today, and 50 years from now, NO one will be wearing those terrible torn up blue jeans and fringy glitter halter tops in a memorable setting, like some do today. Women, like Marilyn [Monroe], Jane [Mansfield], Jane [Russell], Rita [Hayworth], Gina [Davis], etc., will always revert back to a “classy or timeless fashion, that also screams of sexiness and mystery”, as they hit a Red Carpet, social event, intimate night out, etc.

My personal inspirations for styles and outfits are Katy Perry, Dita Von Tesse, Marilyn Monroe and countless everyday Pinup Gals and “Bomb Girls” out there doing their THING and anyone/anything else (ALL styles) that are fun, sexy, inspiring to others like myself and encouraging to everyone that wants to rock what they got!!

Tell us some fun facts about yourself. What are your hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time, or anything else you would like to share?

I absolutely love ALL types of music, always have… During Covid, I picked up drumming again. I hadn’t played since I was a kid, but I bought an electric kit and have been dusting off the cobwebs to get back in to it. During the same time, I also purchased my first Hot Rod, a 1932 Ford Roadster. She’s been a blast going to, and WINNING often times, car shows and events! I don’t know the first thing about vehicles, but this has been a really fun and wholesome experience, as “car culture” folks are salt of the Earth people and this has been a wonderful social experience. I work in a physically, mentally and emotionally trying career. Over the last decade or so, worldwide, our trade has experienced much loss from the darkness of mental health issues. I was invited to join our organizations very first, and groundbreaking venture in our world, “Peer Support Team”. We’re not mental health professionals, I don’t have any extensive training or education in this realm, or piece of paper hanging on the wall…but I “give a shit”, and feel honored to have been invited to join this team, as being invited showed that others saw something special in me, which I’m thankful for and feel privileged to serve in this capacity.

Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?

I had the wonderful experience a couple years ago of being invited to submit, AND ultimately land within the pages of a Pinup Magazine! Not only once, but 3 times now, with the latest (June 2023) even landing a freaking COVER shot! I’d been friends on Facebook with a super sweet gal that I followed a Pinup page with. We’d chatted a few times about outfits, shoes, styles and the like. She’d recently started up her own Pinup magazine (The Social Pin) and she told me I should submit my pics to the mag. NO freakin way!! I’d had a chance to shoot a couple times in Los Angeles, and had some really fun pics, so I took a stab at it, and was fortunate enough to be selected, 3 times now! SEE?!? CONFIDENCE!! LOL The latest edition (June 2023), I FINALLY had the opportunity of shooting with my ’32 Roadster, and we landed the freaking cover! XOXOXO
