Eye Candy of the Month: Kendra Anderson

Introducing our Eye Candy of the Month: Kendra Anderson!

It’s Glamour Girl season!  Over the years, we’ve met many of our Eye Candy Girls through our various contests.  This month’s Eye Candy is no different.  We first met Kendra last year during our Sexy Legs Contest.  She turned heads very quickly.  When we received some of her latest pics for entry in this year’s Glamour Girl Contest, we knew we should have her do an interview and photo spread right away.  So without further ado, Kendra….

Hi Kendra.  Thanks so much for sitting down with us for this month’s Eye Candy.  Let’s start by telling everyone where you’re from.

I’m from all over honestly, but I call Texas home and right now I’m living in New England. I might be moving to the west coast soon. We’ll see!

When did you first start dressing and how did it come about?

I honestly don’t remember the first time I started just the first time I got caught lol! I dressed periodically throughout my childhood before temporarily “growing out of it” through my teens and most of my 20s. I slowly got back into it over the last year, actually learning makeup and clothing sizing.

How did you come up with your Femme name?

I think I remember my parents saying this would’ve been my name if I had been born a girl. It’s also only three letters away from my male name too hehe

How often do you dress?

I will put on a piece of clothing or throw an outfit together to see how it looks a couple of times during the week. But this is never what I would consider “serious” dressing, this is usually in preparation for a photoshoot, or to see if I have the items to put a look together I saw somewhere. I do the same thing with make-up, occasionally practicing techniques I find online. I try to get fully done up makeup and all around once a month maybe more if I can find the time.

Are you married/in a relationship? If yes, are you able to share your female self with your partner?

I’m in a relationship with a woman right now and she kinda stumbled upon this side of me. I wasn’t being very careful hiding it. Luckily, all of the clothing, makeup, and outfits are my own, so I wasn’t borrowing from her. We’re trying to work on it, so we’ll see.

What are some of your favorite outfits/fashions?

If you can’t tell by my pictures, I love a well fitting dress or a tight skirt with a cute top. I’m just now getting more into leggings since I’ve found a few affordable pairs that are long enough for my legs. Unfortunately, I don’t have many natural curves so I have to use a lot of padding to fill most clothes out.

Stockings or pantyhose?

Stockings, if only because they’re more durable. I’ve gone through too many pairs of pantyhose than I care to remember. I also find my legs to be one of my best assets, sometimes pantyhose conceal them too much. Stockings are an intentional choice, “I’m putting these on because I need to have this look…”

Heels or flats?

Definitely heels. I can never find a pair of flats that work.

Favorite places to go when dressed?

I haven’t really gone out when dressed too much. The few times I have I’ve just driven to a few clothing stores and looked at the merch or gone to a LGBTQ club and had a drink at the bar.

Go to accessories for a night out

First thing is a durable handbag large enough to hold your phone, ID, some cash, and a small pallet of powder and lipstick, but small enough that it’s not too bulky. Honestly, I also carry a taser with me too, you can never be too safe.

Who is/are your female role model(s) and why?

I think my biggest role model will always be my mother. She’s the smartest person I know and encouraged me to be self-reflective, patient, and honest. My other female role model has to be Michelle Obama. Aside from being the literal Smartest Person around, she is absolutely gorgeous and a style queen!

Tell us some fun facts about yourself. What are your hobbies (either when dressed or not), likes, things you do in your spare time, or anything else you would like to share?

I love to workout, I’m not much of a cold weather person so I do a lot of at home stuff. Cooking and exploring new recipes. I also brew my own beer at home. I’m a graphic designer by trade and love art and design. I try to see a different art museum once every month, though the pandemic has made it a challenge. I love sports, currently excited for March Madness. Issues of social welfare and social justice, Black Trans Lives Matter. Finally education, I mentor and tutor many children and teenagers, particularly black teenagers. I want to help them reach their goals and attain higher education.

Any stories you would like to share about yourself and your journey?

The first time I tried makeup, I ended up looking like a total mess haha! But following a simple guide over time has really helped me improve a lot! I still struggle with challenging aspects (eyeliner, false lashes, contour and highlighting, properly setting) and have probably spent more money on makeup than I should. But the progress I’ve made has been exciting!

As a Newcomer to our contests (Sexy Legs first timer last year and first time in Glamour Girl this year), what inspired you to enter and what advice can you give on getting those perfect contest photos?

Since I picked up dressing again last year, I have had my eyes set on this contest! I just love seeing all of the girls on here and how amazing they look and I just would love to be part of such an exclusive club! My biggest piece of advice would be don’t try to do too much. For my photos I chose a subtle eye look and a nude lip color. Highlight your attributes, don’t try to [over]cover up your flaws, you end up making them stand out more.

If you have social media, what is the best way for others to follow you?

Follow me on Instagram at @kendra2k21 and my Flickr page at flickr.com/photos/mizzkendra2k/.  I’m most active on those.

If you would like to send a message to your fellow girls out there or a closing statement.

Happy dressing! Don’t forget to support black owned clothing stores and makeup brands!

Thanks so much for sitting down with us Kendra.  And good luck in this year’s Glamour Girl Contest!!
