CROSSDRESSER EVENT OF THE MONTH: THE RAVEN, PA.

GlamourBoutique.com’s very own intrepid reporter Dawn Gold was out and about again on your behalf to savor the delights of one of the North East’s premiere gatherings for Crosddressers. We received many requests for information about The Raven after Dawn’s very first visit in July this year and so hopefully those of you who have since visited have had just as good a time. Dawn decided to revisit to see if The Raven still was as much fun in the Winter months where one of the stand-out features of the location, the poolside patio and bar was closed for the season. How would 70 plus attendees party in the more intimate rooms inside. This is Jennifer Bryant’s and her co-organizers 12th event and it has been a great success with the numbers growing rapidly. What makes the Raven such a stand-out in the regular events calendar for CD’s/TG’s? As highlighted in the summer report of the July event New Hope is an ideal town which certainly helps. The area is quaint and the town itself has an artsy/boehemian edge where folk do not seem to be bothered by others expressing themselves. Part of the attraction of many visiting girls is that the town is very CD friendly and one can go shopping, lunching etc all over the town day or night dressed.

Of course attendees also sing Jennifer’s plaudits for the variety of events from Friday right the way through Saturday and the superb organization. But at the heart of The Raven events success is Bryant’s reason for starting in the first place: “I started my lil’ events for one reason…and one reason only…I started them to help others…help others realize their dreams…make their fantasies come true, if only for a lil’ while.” And that is it’s success in a nutshell – it is an oasis for TG/CD’s that is welcoming to all and allows girls to realize that dream in a comfortable, safe, friendly environment, if only for a weekend. My second journey down to New Hope, PA was just as much fun as the first one back in July of this year. It was another great weekend there highlighted by one of Jennifer Bryant’s events at the Raven. With the theme of the event being the Utopian Weekend/Raven 12 “It’s What You’ve Always Dreamed Of!”, and it didn’t disappoint.

There were people there from Boston all the way down to Baltimore, and we gathered at Sliders Lounge in the Ramada Inn hotel on Friday evening where the event kicked off, or at least where I was able to make it in time for. Some of us headed over to the Raven where the chatting, dancing, etc. continued on till closing there. A few of us headed back to our hotel, the Sliders lounge there for a nightcap and a moment to unwind before we called it a night.

Some of us headed into town the next morning to meet for coffee, and take a walk around town. Do some sightseeing, take a few pictures, and do some shopping all whilst dressed en femme in daylight. There is so much to see and do on the Main street area of New Hope with all the shops and restaurants it’s impossible to do it all in one day. At least in one day with heels on anyway. Lol!

We found a nice restaurant with an outside lounge area and decided to stop in for a drink, and take a bit of a breather. You don’t realize it, but you probably end up walking a few miles when you bop around town taking pics, and having fun with friends.

With our purchases in hand it was time to start heading back to the hotel to begin getting ready for the gathering at the Raven that evening.

If you chose to you can attend a sit down dinner with Jennifer Bryant and friends at the Raven before the party gets going, or just grab an early seat at the bar, or dance floor area. Maybe visit the piano bar room for a drink, or shoot a game or two of billiards.

Before you know it the place is jumping, and music is pumping. Everywhere you look people are smiling, and laughing having the time of their lives. Meeting with friends and making new ones. I always try to make at least one new friend every time I go out, and it’s easy to do that here.

As usual the night goes by too fast, and it’s 2am already, and time to head back to the hotel. By the look on everyone’s face you can tell all had a great experience, and a super fun time at the event.

Thanks to Jennifer Bryant and the Raven, and to everyone who made it such as fantastic and memorable weekend.

See you again soon !!!!!! Dawnxxx
