The Annual Sparkle Event for Crossdressers
News reaches us of the latest Sparkle Event held last month by the fabulous River City Gems organization. Each year they provide many opportunities for transgender women to socialize in a safe, friendly and supportive environment with Sparkle being the ‘big one’ and attended by some of the most beautiful CD’s/TG’s you will ever see and meet.
Carollyn Olson, previous Glamour Girl Contest Winner and long-time friend of GB emailed us with news of the latest Sparkle Event. Taking place in California you may well expect it to be attended by beautiful people and it is. As I cast my eyes over some of the pics sent in I can see many Vanity Club girls and past winners of our annual Glamour Girl Contest.
Like many in the community, we at GB regard many of these ladies as true icons. To see such gorgeous people like Carollyn, Heidi Phox, Diane Grace, Donna Kelli, Jennifer Williams etc. all together and sharing their joy at such an event is really up-lifting.
The Rivery City Sparkle Gala event in Sacramento, Ca took place from October 4th to the 7th and boy-oh-boy did Carollyn and her girlfriends pack in a lot? On Friday there was a special Vanity Club luncheon with 11 attendees. To learn more about the Vanity Club check out www.vanityclub.com where you can see stunning transgender women on every page. The showpiece of the event is of course the Saturday night Gala where more formal cocktail dresses are the order of the day. Carolynn reports that this year: ‘The change of venue was magnificent as the social hour was so exciting for me to be able to meet so many of the Gems’ members. Dinner was delicious, the entertainment was funny, and the girls danced into the night.’ Heidi Phox is an accomplished Country and Western Line dancer and schooled many of the girls on the dancefloor.
River City Gems has one of the most well-run schedule of social events of any group in the country and we would urge you to make contact if you live on the West Coast. Just look at some of the pictures and imagine; you could be there surrounded by attractive, friendly and supportive sisters helping you to express the true-you.
