Tips To Look Hot in CD Contest Photos

It’s time to get excited! This year’s Glamour Girl Photo Contest is just weeks away. Every year we receive amazing and sexy photos. We love seeing how everyone ups their game year after year. For those that may need a little help in the photo-taking department, we’ve got you covered. We spoke to our judges and some photographers and came up with some great tips to make your Glamour Girl pics hotter than ever!

Tips to make your Glamour girl pictures super hot!

Lighting – One thing we can never stress enough as it can make or break a photo is the lighting. Proper lighting is key to everything. Now unless you are going to a professional photographer for your photos (which some of you do), odds are you do not have a lighting set up. Our best advice is to use natural light to your advantage. Artificial light, especially in a home can be very harsh and really hurt your photos. If you are indoors, using natural light to your advantage is easier than you think. Standing near a window with sunlight beaming in (above) helps to soften your image a bit. Morning is a great time for natural light photos as you can be bathing in gorgeous sunlight, looking like a sexy dream girl.

Angles/Poses – Angle your shoulders away from the camera. As genetic males, our shoulders are broad and posing square to the camera will emphasize their width. By angling your shoulders, they will appear smaller and more in proportion to the rest of your femme body.
Facial angles are important too. A good pose is a ¾ view of your face as opposed to head on as this angle offers up a very favorable look.

Camera Position – Whether taking the photo yourself or if you have someone taking it for you that is not a professional, you should have the camera positioned in a way that will make you look your best. Position the camera at or above eye level for the most flattering look. If you put the camera at a lower level then this, you will add weight to your face and no one wants to have the appearance of a double chin. If you are taking photos by yourself, either position the camera on a tripod or flat surface at eye level or higher. If you are going the selfie route, the rule of higher camera position is still in effect. When doing a selfie, angle your jawline a bit as you look up as it will give it some definition.

Arm Placement – Since our genetic male arms can often look larger when pressed against our bodies, try keeping them slightly away from your body when posing. A scarf or shawl is a great way to offset your shoulders, slimming the broadness of them. A great pose is a low cut shoulderless dress with a scarf or shawl. It shows some skin and helps with your shoulder/arm concerns. A cold shoulder dress is another great way to go here as it’s both stylish and another great way to minimize your shoulders and arms.

Keep an Eye on your Background – This is so important. We cannot tell you how many times we receive a picture for the Glamour Girl Contest where someone is in a room that looks like it is an episode of Hoarders. At the least, you should try and have a clean background that is not too busy as it will redirect eyes away from you who is supposed to be the star of the photo. If you have access to a professional photographer, they will have backdrops and sets for you that will work perfectly. If you are at home, just be creative with your space and try not to fill the photo with unnecessary clutter.
When outside taking photos, it is always fine to have trees, flowers or scenery behind you as it can enhance the photo, but again just be mindful of your surroundings.

Now that we have gone over some basic rules, let’s go over a few different photo ideas that will enhance your look, similar to our suggestion about a photo taken in front of a window during morning sunlight. Let’s call these our Boudoir photo suggestions.

Mirror Angles – Mirror angles are totally sexy. Not only does the viewer get a sexy shot of you from the front, but also they get a little extra as the mirror shows off more of you from behind. You can either face the camera and let the mirror get your backside, or you can face the mirror showing viewers your reflection while making your butt and back the star of the photo.

Lean against the window – This is a great go-to pose that not only will bask you in sunlight, but give off a voyeuristic feel. Lingerie or a corset based outfit is a perfect choice for this shot.

Classy Furniture – If you have the ability to take a photo on some classic looking furniture or something that would go in a fancy sitting room or bedroom, go for it. These classy pieces of furniture can enhance a boudoir shoot as it is part of that overall look. Plus who wouldn’t want to see a sexy girl laying out on some beautiful furniture?

Hide that Belly – Self-conscious about your belly? A great fix is to pose with your knees up. This pose is not only super sexy, but it will also help you feel better and in turn enhance your photos both in the shot and your comfortableness while taking it.

Upside Down is Hot! – A seriously sexy pose that we never see enough of is the upside down pose. It really features your face (so make sure your makeup is on point) and just looks hot!

Get Playful – Have fun. Do some playful poses. Give us a big smile. Look like your laughing. A happy and fun person is always sexy so show that side of yourself too.

A Bed Offers so Many Positions – When taking photos on a bed, use it to your advantage. Here are a few examples of super sexy bed shots:

Be Natural – Sometimes some of the best photos are of you doing something natural because it shows the viewer a little something personal about you while keeping it sexy. Read a book while sitting on your bed in lingerie. Hang around the kitchen and make your favorite dish. Lounge by the pool. Make a drink. There are endless possibilities, but acting natural is a great way to show yourself off.

Selfies – We know there are many girls out there who only have themselves as a photographer, making the Selfie super important too. A few months back we posted an article on the art of selfies. Take a look and get all the info you could need for selfies.

With these tips and posing suggestions, we think you will be on your way to some really hot photos. Let’s be sure to make them count since we want everyone to send them in for the Glamour Girl Photo Contest! Happy photo taking girls!!
