The Transformational Benefits Of Perfume

perfume benefits

Over the years, we have offered advice and tips when going out en femme. When we discuss preparations, beauty tips, or must-haves, one item almost always finds its way on our list – perfume. Perfume is a beauty item that we feel should be included in every girls “Getting Ready” or “Keep in Your Purse” list. What most people don’t realize is that perfume has a lot more benefits than they’d think. We’ve explored some of our top features and benefits of perfume to highlight transformational factors that you may not realize you are missing.

The Benefits of perfume

Perfume Smells Nice

Let’s start with an obvious one. Perfume’s main purpose to most of us is that it helps us smell great. When we are dressed, there is always that struggle of sweating. With extreme sweating, can come body odor and we definitely don’t want that. Putting on some spritzes of perfume before heading out is always a must.

Plus, perfume gives off the appearance that you are clean and care about your personal hygiene. Remember, perfume’s main intention is to enhance your clean smell not cover up bad odors so make sure to take a shower and actually be clean before using your perfume! We also recommend you don’t go crazy with spritzing your favorite perfume – too much can be over-powering!

It Can Be A Confidence Booster

Ever forget to put on deodorant before you leave the house in the morning and then you spend the rest of the day afraid to go near anyone else at work or cancel a lunch meeting because of the fear someone may think you smell? I know I have.

Wearing an amazing scent of your favorite perfume will put you in a more confident frame of mind without you even knowing it. When you smell great, you subconsciously feel good about yourself and in turn, boost your confidence. I know when I put on some of my favorite perfume I feel like the sexiest girl in the room and I’m totally confident to talk to that special someone I’ve had my eye on or speak up more in a work meeting.

Has the Potential Make You More Attractive

Your sense of smell can easily dictate how you feel toward something or someone. A person can become instantly more attractive if they are wearing really nice smelling perfume. Everyone is attracted to different smells and scents, and if the scent you’re wearing is THE scent that drives someone else crazy, you become the sexiest girl in the world to them. Remember, some perfumes contain natural female pheromones which can also add to your female attractiveness. I know I’ve turned my head a few times when someone walks by with an amazing scent and I know you have too. It is extremely common that certain smells can make someone more attractive to those around them.

Perfume Has Aphrodisiac Properties

Expanding on the benefit above, a lot of perfumes can act as a natural aphrodisiac due to the way they can attract someone to the smell. We’ve all smelled a certain smell that is a sexual trigger to us. Many perfumes contain female pheromones, which will definitely cause some behavioral shifts in those that get a good whiff. In other cases, some people will mix pheromones in with their perfume because they want that little something extra and that’s when our primal instincts come out and make you more attractive on a hormonal level. If you would like to know more about some of the scents which are scientifically proven to be aphrodisiacs, have a read of this post.

Enhances Mood and Can Help You Relax

Different smells can produce different moods. With so many different perfumes out there, each with their own scent, the choices are endless. Maybe you want to feel mischievous tonight. Pick a scent that screams “I want to get into some trouble!” Maybe you want to feel relaxed, there is a scent out there for you to chill you out. Maybe you want to sex things up a bit, let’s find that super sexy scent. Keep a rotating selection at home that way, when you go out, you have a scent for how you want to feel that day. Trust me, it works, and there’s even research to back up that certain scents can help to relieve stress too.

Aromatherapy

Expanding off of enhancing your mood, some fragrances can be a form of aromatherapy. Perfumes are also known to have many therapeutic benefits and can easily relax you. With fruity or floral scents, for example, they can offer a soothing effect. These scents can also keep your stress levels low and put a little extra positivity in your life which can also lead to a healthier well-being. One of the most well-known fragrances when it comes to soothing is sandalwood. Sandalwood scent benefits include relaxation and calmness, and it’s said to promote positive thinking too. Even if you’re not keen on sandalwood as a perfume scent, it’s a great option for diffusers around the house.

Relive Memories

Another advantage of perfume is one many won’t even realize. I can say from experience, that if I am walking around somewhere and smell someone’s perfume and that scent is familiar of another person I once knew or takes me back to a moment in time. A suggestion we came across that we really loved was this – every time you go on vacation, pick up a different small bottle of perfume. Then when you go out, wear one of those perfumes, and relive your memories of that trip.

Who knew perfume can offer so many benefits outside of just smelling great. With so many perfumes to choose from, we like to suggest fruity, fresh or floral scents as the wood style scents offer a little more masculinity to them. Oriental perfumes also offer a little more masculinity but that depends on the mix of scents. What really matters is that you find perfumes that offer you the smells that you like so you can experience many of these transformational benefits we discussed above.
