TEN QUICK 'LOOK YOUR BEST' MAKEUP TIPS
Ask most gurls the most difficult part of creating the feminine illusion and they will usually answer 'make-up' because not only is it a skill that few are naturally possessed with but it takes a lot of practice to master, even with the best of teaching aids. The most classic of errors usually concern color and application (often far too much is a ‘newbie’ give-away) and taking short-cuts, for example, skipping the concealer/beard cover phase prior to foundation. Be patient and be prepared to learn from experience and practice, practice, practice.
As with any instruction or list of tips the secret is often knowing which one’s will work for you and which one’s to throw out; be selective about the new skills and tips you do choose to practice. A good method is to know your best features. What do people comment on most? Make the most of your best features. If people comment you on your eyes find eyeshadow colors that complement the eyes. Be sure to wear Mascara too, again to make the most of your assets.
We asked all our makeup artists to give us 5 Quick Tips that can help any gurls life easier. We took all the lists and have condensed all the suggestions down to what we consider are the Best 10 Quick Make-Up Tips. Remember, be selective and use the one’s that will work for you.
- Make the most of your eyes. Don't line the inside of your eyes It will make your eyes appear smaller. You need to line just at the lash line. Smudge the line a little because a perfectly uniform line doesn't look natural.
- Use the correct makeup application tools. Foundation and Beard Cover should always be applied with a triangle shaped latex sponge in order to avoid streaking. Apply foundation with a circular motion after lightly dampening the sponge with warm water (wring out any excess).
- Most Affordable Eye Make-up Remover. Many make-up artists use Vaseline for removing eye make-up; it’s cheap and really effective. It’s fantastic to improve the appearance of lips too when you massage it in and then wipe clean. Lips will appear fuller and shinier.
- Pink Lipstick Lips Camouflage Skin Flaws. If you have less than a perfect skin complexion try using a warm pink tone of lipstick on the lips. This draws people’s attention to the lips visually and so they focus less on any flaws you may have in your complexion. Try it – it works.
- Sexy Evening Eyes. The easiest way to have sexy evening eyes is to ensure a good application of eyeliner. Be sure to trace the top lash line just past the outside corners of the eyes.

- Choose the Ideal Blush Everytime. A simple tip that most make-up artists know about; lightly pinch your check and the resulting red color on the skin surface is the one you need to match as close as possible for the ideal color for your complexion.
- Late Night Make-up Revival. You’re several hours into a night out and your makeover is decidedly worse for wear. You can’t re-do your whole make-up but you want to look a million dollars again. Simply pat lightly some concealer under the bottom eye lashes, next to the nose and on the inner corners of the eye. Finnish with a light application of Bronzer over the cheecks and you will appear as refreshed as you were at the top of the evening.
- Silky Smooth Legs. Always after shaving apply moisturizer to the legs for a silky-soft finnish. Legs do not have oil ducts in the skin surface and can get dry and flakey very quickly.
- Tanning from Bottles Stinks! As we move into Autumn and you want to keep your healthy glow try a tan spray or sunbed rather than out of a bottle due to the smell – always a give-away of a fake tan. If it is the only affordable option for you then apply at least 2 days before an event you are dressing for.
